Walking into the New Year

Venturing out tomorrow morning for a New Year’s walk, especially if you walk the beach at Watch Hill in Rhode Island, will be unseasonably warm. At least based on the past few New Year’s Day walks when wind chill put it into single digits or lower. Even with an unseasonable 35º temperature the wind, from the West, at 12-14 knots will feel like 25ºs. So bundle up, layers will help some but you’ll be walking back from Napatree Point into the wind. A buff, scarf, or mask will help.

Looking forward to walking with you in 2020. May you have a happy start to a New Year.

on the Journey…

Creativity for the Haiku portion of this blog has been dim these past few years. Something I’m always thinking about… But, lately I’ve been thinking also about the other half, the journey portion, and that has still been continuing. Old doors closing and new ones opening, adventures and travel…

So, until the creativity kicks back in, and maybe beyond, I’m going to be posting about this journey. I’ll mix a little of this happened, with this is happening, to thus are the dreams…

Just a quick update tonight, I’ll be back in a couple of days.

Past and upcoming…

Saturday was a perfect day to walk the Pike-Marshall preserve in Ledyard… Except no one showed up. If you’d like to see what you missed you can check out an earlier hike that I recorded in AllTrails (R) (click here). Check the sidebar for walks coming up on New Year’s Day & a short Pancake Breakfast on Saturday the 4th of January 2020.
