I could blame it on ennui
from half a year and more,
Shooting star, bright joy,
Lighting the darkness of night.
Now just memories…
The future may be bleary as we stand on the cusp of a new year,
Looking back, our vision is 2020,
With the change of season, reason, we may find cheer.
Shooting star, here, gone!
Lighting our lives briefly. Now…
We shine less brightly.
…Sydney Aiello, Parkland Florida victim!
An ancient graveyard.
Monuments and markers tell
Tales of family.
Venus morning star,
and my thoughts turn to you.
Beauty shining bright.
Oh, what should we seek,
happiness or contentment?
A different world…
Touch up here, and there,
hustle, getting ready for spring showers.
Baby on the way!
With the ebb and flow,
caught up by the undertow,
in the tide of life.
Why must These tears fall,
crying, crying, into the night –
missing… missing… we have lost them,
lost them all.
Wheel of time,
you’ve hardly turned before they’re gone.
Turn back, turn back and restore,
restore to me mine!
I will hold you, hold you ever,
in thought, in prayer, in sighing breath,
my child, my sister, father, mother, brother, lover —
here, here in my heart living ever.
Here in my heart,
And still I cry!
